2016 Christmas Toy Appeal

CHRISTMAS GIFT APPEAL

Whilst many of us enjoy the fun, friends and family that are brought together by the Christmas season, there are families in our town for whom Christmas is a sad, lonely and isolating time. Financial pressures often mean that there are children who will receive none of the presents and excitement that we take for granted on Christmas morning.

Stapleton Derby intends to support St Helens Council in collecting Christmas presents for disadvantaged children in our town. Christmas is for everyone to enjoy and the Christmas Gift Appeal intends to bring happiness to those children from the poorest families in St Helens.

Stapleton Derby is appealing for local businesses, landlords, tenants, home buyers, house sellers and all other St Helens residents to join the 2016 St Helens Council Christmas Gift Appeal. Toys, clothes and toiletries for all children and teenagers up to the age of 18 are greatly appreciated although Soft Toys cannot be accepted for Health and Safety reasons. All those kind enough to make a donation, however large or small, are asked to ensure the item is in good condition and is donated unwrapped so it can be properly distributed to the right children in order to make the biggest impact.

Stapleton Derby’s Managing Director Mike Denning comments, “As an established local business we have both the ability and the responsibility to do what we can to help disadvantaged people in our town. Many of us take Christmas for granted but we need to realise that there are many children who don’t experience the same Christmas cheer as our own families. We’re appealing to everyone in St Helens that is able, to donate a gift, big or small, to the St Helens Council Christmas Gift Appeal 2016”.

In addition to the Council drop-off points, gifts can be dropped at Stapleton Derby’s Town Centre office between 9am and 5pm Monday to Fridays and 9:30am-1:00pm on Saturdays. Everyone dropping unwrapped Christmas Gifts at Stapleton’s office during working hours will be offered a cup of tea or coffee as a thank you.
